Alaska Fun Time RV, LLC, has been created to offer you, the RV owner, a unique and profitable way to turn your expensive investment into a moneymaking business that will also give you a significant tax deduction. You will also have the opportunity to use your RV for your family recreation enjoyment. Yes, you can make up to $20,000 on some vehicles during our rental season and still earn a large tax deduction. There is no reason to let your rig sit all summer without being used, deteriorating and depreciating, when, with our program, you can pay for the typical RV in 3-5 years, and still have it to enjoy.

Your vehicle is protected. We stringently check out the driving records and credit checks on most renters. We spend over an hour in orientation of operation and features of the vehicle prior to departure. Nothing leaves our lot that is not insured, either through a binder from the renters insurance company or through purchase of our MBA RV Insurance Program. You can reserve your RV when you bring it in to us for any date you wish throughout the season. If something comes up during the season where you will want to utilize it again, just give us a call. If the schedule is open for those dates you are welcome to use it. At any time that you are planning to use your RV, it will be sitting in our location, clean, fueled and ready for you to pick up. You can most generally even pick it up a few days early if you like. When you return it, it will be just like any other rental, we would expect it returned with fuel and propane filled, clean and ready to be rented again. There is absolutely no charge for you using your RV, after all it is yours.

FAQ's

How do we know our RV won’t get trashed?

Neither you nor I want your RV to be damaged. Almost everything can be repaired on a RV. Prior to departure, during our orientation, we cam-cord the renters on their tour of the RV. We are experienced and include all the body panels, front and real bumpers, as well as the entire interior. This is again done when the RV is returned. The disc is date stamped. It is easy to show when the damage occurred, insurance companies honor this method and we get the repairs done quickly and efficiently. Your vehicle will be kept in top condition. Of course, just as if you were using it yourself, there will be some normal wear and tear on the rig. And of course, the income you are taking in should be ample compensation for this. If during a rental trip, there is a problem, for example, a flat tire, the renter is free to spend up to $100 per trip, for minor repair or parts. All they have to do is present us with the receipt upon check in and it will be considered as a portion of their payment.

The RV is clean, holding tanks dumped, in excellent repair, full of fuel and propane when it leaves our lot. We charge a sufficient security deposit to cover most problems. $500 for both motor homes and travel trailers. This is equal to the deductible amount of the insurance that is required. We have 14 days after the RV is returned before the deposit is refunded, so in case of hidden damage, it can be traced to the perpetrator. In addition, the rental is paid for in advance with a prior credit card approval. We do not take checks on the day of departure.

How is insurance covered and enforced?

Some insurance companies will sell the renter their own insurance and issue us a binder for the insurance coverage. Otherwise, we require the purchase of our own policy through MBA Insurance Company. No vehicle leaves our lot without full insurance coverage.

Can I use our RV during the consignment period?

Of course, you are the owner. We simply manage it for you. At the beginning of the season when you drop it off or make arrangements to drop it off, we will happily schedule for you whatever time you want to use your RV. Typically it is a moderate vacation of 2 weeks or so, and a couple other weekends, but that is up to you. We will schedule rentals around your schedule, not the other way around. If you need it for an unexpected trip or weekend, let us know ASAP. If it is available those dates, you are welcome to it, another option is to rent you another RV at half price. (Yes, I said half price). In some cases we can switch the renters to another RV but this is not always possible.

How do I know my RV will be properly maintained?

Our reputation depends on it. When a vehicle comes into our fleet, we do a full safety check at no cost to you. This will then be discussed with you. Safety items must be repaired prior to rental. The cost of these repairs can be deducted from your first rental check. This is not considered maintaince. After this is done, we will keep track and do normal maintaince on your rig every 3000-5,000 miles. Cost of this will be split between us and yourself and your portion will be automatically deducted from your monthly check. Major repairs, tire replacement, etc will be your expense and we will contact you prior to repairing.

Will smokers damage or cause my RV to smell?

Absolutely not, we do not allow smoking in any of our RV’s. If there is any sign of smoking in the vehicle, the entire deposit from the renter will be lost.

Who can drive our motor home?

The driver must be designated as driver at the check out of the motor home and in the insurance papers designating who is covered by the insurance. We will have copies of the drivers license of all those designated as drivers and they will sign forms indicating that they are responsible for the RV.

What procedure is followed in the event of emergency breakdown on the road?

As already stated, every renter is told that they can spend up to $100 for repairs or parts in case of a problem. They must submit the receipt to us, as well as the replaced part. If the repair is more then $100, they must call us for approval and instructions. Items 13 on the terms and conditions clearly spell out the procedures that must be followed and our limits of liability. Our liability is limited to the reimbursement for full days loss due to the breakdown and does not include any other expenses the renter might incur. Our contract specifically states that such things as the refrigerator, generator, air conditioner etc do not constitute a breakdown and no reimbursement will be forthcoming. Once the unit has been repaired and returned to us, we will make the determination as to whether the breakdown was caused by mechanical failure, or misuse or negligence on the part of the renter. If the breakdown was caused by misuse or negligence, we will charge the renter for the repair. If the RV is still under warranty, it will be covered by warranty. Major repairs that are not caused by misuse or negligence are the responsibility of the owner, however m many of these cases may be covered by warranty.

What if I am unsatisfied in the amount of rentals my RV gets?

The primary factor that determines the amount of time you RV is rented is simply what your RV is. Renters primarily want a particular size unit as determined by either rental price or number of beds. From there it’s based on age of the unit. Some people want only the best and nicest and largest rig we have, others are willing to sacrifice some of this for a lower price. The renter is given a summary of what is available on a specific date and they choose, not us. If your rig is clean and in good condition, it should rent for up to 3 weeks a month during our busy mid summer season and 1-2 weeks during the spring and fall.

Where would my rig be stored when not in use?

Our lot is secure and lighted. We also have Internet video cameras for surveillance. We require that our consignment owners keep storage insurance on their vehicle while it is with us.

When is payday, how and when do we get paid for our RV rentals?

Statements and checks are mailed out once a month around the 15th of each month. Rental periods are closed at the end of each month. Rentals that continue from one month to the next will not be paid until the rental is closed and the RV is returned. The rental statement is divided into two parts. The first shows rentals and total income for the unit for the month. The second shows charges such as maintaince, which is subtracted from the income, resulting in the final amount due to the owner.
